I'm so grateful for each family that I have the privilege of serving.
Here's what they have to say...

"Tutoring with Ms. Hammond has been a wonderful and successful experience for our family. Our daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia after struggling to learn to read in Kindergarten. She would get frustrated easily and give up very quickly. After just a couple months of tutoring, we began to see great improvements in her reading and spelling abilities. Now, after six months of tutoring, she reads more fluidly at grade level, excels on spelling tests, and even chooses to read for fun! It's amazing to see her confidently use the strategies she has learned whenever she reads or writes.
Ms. Hammond built confidence in our student and fostered that desire to read and learn. Our daughter genuinely looks forward to her tutoring sessions. We are so thankful!"

My son Brody started kindergarten and after his first progress report it was obvious he was having a hard time. Brody’s school sent home a letter telling us he was put into an extra reading help program. When he started his lessons with Kim he did not know many letter names or letter sounds. After just a few weeks we saw his confidence grow and he was learning more and more. The technique she uses to teach sight words worked so well and he started reading them and spelling them quicker with each session. Kim is so kind and patient, she keeps Brody engaged and keeps up with the current events of his life. Kim makes Brody feel special and builds up a little boy who used to shut down and give up when he did not know the answer to a question. Brody is now excelling in reading, he was moved out of the extra reading help program, and his progress reports improved from below grade level to on track for the end of the year. Kim teaches in a way that clicks with Brody and also taught me how to support him at home. Brody saids that he wants to have lessons with Kim until he is a “parent”! We will use her services for as long as she’ll have us!

Kim Hammond has been such a blessing to our family. When our son Max started working with her at the beginning of the year, he was struggling with reading and spelling and losing confidence in himself. After just a few months, we saw such a positive change! His grades improved, schoolwork started to come more easily, and most importantly, his confidence began to grow.
His teacher even mentioned that he became much more willing to read aloud in class and had a new confidence because he knew he was capable and getting the answers right. That meant so much to us.
Kim is one of the kindest and most patient people you will ever meet. She has a true gift for working with children, meeting them where they are, and helping them succeed. Her love for the Lord shines through in everything she does, and she genuinely fosters a love of reading and learning in the children she teaches.
We are so grateful for the impact she has had on Max and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family.

I have known Kim Hammond for twenty-one years and have witnessed her character and devotion to children from the lens of a parent, a coworker and eventually…a dear friend. Because of this time and the different roles she has played throughout our relationship, I have the unique ability to speak about one of her many talents.
I will start from the beginning of our relationship, which was the 2005 school year when my daughter, Peyton, was placed in Kim’s Southlake Carroll ISD preschool class. Right away, I was impressed with Kim’s demeanor and classroom décor, but little did I know those would not hold a candle to her abilities with children. By the time we began the second semester that year, Kim had noticed Peyton was struggling with letters, sounds and identifying numbers. These struggles did not match the observable strengths Peyton had repeatedly shown. Many teachers would throw up their hands and say, “Oh well. It must be developmental!” But not Kim. She dug into my daughter with a full battery of assessments, sought second opinions from a district diagnostician, and called a meeting with my husband and me. She let us know that after a deep dive into my child’s brain, dyslexia was something to watch for. Upon entering Kindergarten, Peyton was officially diagnosed with dyslexia. Early intervention cannot be undervalued! My daughter began intensive instruction designed JUST for her and graduated from that program in fourth grade. She had 5 years of special, individualized help changing the trajectory of her educational career. Forgive me for bragging, but she scored 1310 on her SAT and is now working on her master’s degree in public health and nutrition. My husband and I owe more than we can say to Kim. In our eyes, she went the extra mile, determined WHY our child was struggling, and saved her life. We will be eternally grateful.
Because of this experience, and as an educator myself, I could see Kim would be a perfect fit at my own elementary school within the same district. I recommended her for a Kindergarten position and my principal snapped her up. The woman built a reputation amongst parents with the toughest standards and earned a following to rival the best of the best. EVERYONE wanted their children to be in her classroom, and I could not blame them. We grew to be dear friends and will be as long as we are alive. She will care for your child like she cares for her own. She will dial in to your baby’s brain and speak to them in the language of patience and love. Before you know it- the child you are so worried about will be surpassing their peers and bragging to their friends, “I can do this! I am dyslexic and it is a SUPERPOWER!”
Take a breath. It will all be ok. Kim will change your child’s life the way she did mine.

What do you say about a person that changed the trajectory of your grandsons academic future? Kim began tutoring my grandson at a pivotal time for him. He was in kindergarten and just not “getting it”. His first report card came out and it didn’t reflect how bright I knew him to be. I was so fearful his light would dim once he realized how far behind he was. I knew Kim had been a huge help to a friends daughter. I approached her to tutor my grandson. What happened was nothing short of amazing! He began understanding letters, sounds, and blends. He started reading and writing words. What was once very frustrating for him turned into fun! Kim’s knowledge of teaching and his efforts have turned things around and his report card reflects that! This month he was student of the month at his school!!! My grandson, (who is my heart) says he wants to “Have lessons with Miss Kim until he’s a parent.” So what do you say about a tutor that has done all of the above? I call her a blessing sent from God.♥️
